 Beaded River Necklace, turquoise

My jewellery collection uses many of the same materials and techniques that I have evolved over the years in my paintings and textile crafts.

I use a wide range of materials including sterling silver, hand dyed paper, fabric, thread - including precious metal threads, and silver and 24 carat gold leaf. The process of making involves many stages and as each piece is made individually, no two are ever the same. The pieces are finished with protective resin, which gives a lustrous satin finish and a smooth, silky feel, and makes them practical to wear; they are strong and durable, water resistant, and can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Silver mountings should be cleaned with a silver polishing cloth, and chains are best cleaned using liquid silver dip.
